Two Tons

We are DJ, JB and Malc ‘the mic’. forming two tons of rock n roll. We first met some 14 years ago at a party, tentatively introduced ourselves and a great friendship ensued. About 10 years ago JB made a suggestion about forming a DJ duo, because he felt there was a gap in the scene for classic rock n roll, I agreed, he also wanted to start a group up of Norfolk teddyboys and call it

TON, meaning ‘teds of Norfolk’ but as I’m from Suffolk it became TONS, ‘teds of Norfolk, Suffolk, and as we are two of them the name Two Tons of Rock n Roll was born. We strived very hard to get gigs and as we weren’t ‘circuit dj’s’ we couldn’t get into the weekenders, but did pubs and clubs and parties.

A chance chat to a weekend organiser and left our card, gave us a slot as a DJ went sick, liking what he saw, gave us a regular weekend slot, other promoters picked up on this and we now have a few under our belt.

Also in this time we were given the opportunity to DJ at Pub on the Shrubs and went down a storm, the then club organiser has now given us the reins and we now run it. Getting bigger on the scene came to the attention of Richard Routledge and introduced us to Harbour Radio and Nevv Moore, who gave us our launch into radio, and what a fantastic ride its been!
