30 Aug Harbour Radio FM Launch
Today was the most exciting day for all crew members, advertisers and supporters of Harbour Radio. At 07:00hrs this morning, harbour radio started
its FM transmission on 107.4FM. And the new community FM station was also launched this afternoon by the mayor of Great Yarmouth, Cllr Kerry Robinson Payne by cutting the harbour themed blue ribbon and nicely done ‘harbour-cake’ baked by Harbour Radio Presenter Melanie Ruse.
With this launch, Harbour Radio has started its fresh new journey towards its 5 Years Community FM License.
Harbour Radio is a non-for profit Community Radio station, broadcasting on 107.4 FM and online via www.harbourradio.co.uk and via Tune In app. Harbour Radio was founded back in 2014 by 5 individuals and successfully completed 28 days RSL FM transmission and sustained online broadcast since then. Harbour Radio then applied for the Community FM Radio License in 2014. In the year 2015, OFCOM has awarded Community Radio FM License to Harbour Radio, setting up a two years’ timeline to start its’ FM transmission.
Over the recent years, Harbour Radio has become very popular radio station within the community of Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas whilst it gets many audiences from around the world with the help of the internet technology.
In the year 2016, Harbour Radio has moved its premises from Fastolff House based in Regent Road to King Street for a wider and better ‘custom built’ studio space, and gone under serious refurbishment of interiors of the building to allow Great Yarmouth to have its own professionally designed Radio Station and music production studio.
We’d like to invite everyone to join us for the grand launch from our King Street studio (137 King Street, Great Yarmouth NR30 2PQ). We’d also like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout our journey and will be in the future. Our regular FM journey is about to begin and we’d need your support and accompany to accomplish our goal and make Harbour Radio the real voice of the community.
