Man rescued after jumping into River Yare

A man has been rescued from the River Yare at Great Yarmouth and resuscitated by police.

Officers were called to Hall Quay in Great Yarmouth on Sunday at midnight after reports of a man in the water.

A spokesman for Norfolk police said he had jumped off the Haven Bridge and was not conscious but breathing.

He was taken to the James Paget University Hospital at Gorleston. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
