Acle Straight reopened following three car collision

The fire service was called to the scene, close to the Runham Roundabout and Vauxhall Holiday Park at 10.56am.

They said: “Two appliances from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston attended a road traffic collision on Acle New Road involving three cars.

“Vehicle and scene safety was carried out and one person was released by the crews using hydraulic rescue equipment.”

No one is thought to have been injured, however this furthers calls to upgrade the road from a single to a dual carriageway after this accident is just a tile in the mosaic of blunders and crashes which have occurred on the treacherous A47.

Many believe accidents like this happen regularly due to the fact that the majority of drivers are unaccustomed to long single carriageway roads and that this type of road is almost dangerous in nature.
