Hire boat gets stuck under Great Yarmouth bridge

Emergency teams have been called after a hire boat got stuck under a Great Yarmouth bridge.

The hire cruiser got wedged under the Vauxhall foot bridge at around 7am. Great Yarmouth and Gorleston’s inshore lifeboat Seahorse IV was launched at 7.05am.

The people on the cruiser have been taken off by the Everitt Marine Services vessel ‘Tempo’ and dropped off at Yarmouth Yacht Station.

The lifeboat stood by and helped where required as Tempo attempted to free the vessel. But due to incoming tides the boat is still stuck under the bridge.

RNLI crews were released just after 9am and the Coastguard team from Gorleston and Everitt Marine Services are standing by until the tide turns.
