Harbour Radio awarded 5 year FM License

Harbour Radio is delighted to announce that they have been awarded a broadcasting license from Ofcom

With strong local support, the Community Radio License has been granted for 5 years from the date of the launch (watch this space!), and will be a 24 hour station, reaching out to thousands of listeners.

In response to the fantastic news, Director and Station Manager Nevv Moore thanked everyone involved in the application; volunteers, supporters and well-wishers. “Without a doubt it is going to be an amazing project, serving the needs of the community, and aiming to build on the already  diverse range of topics and music that we already cover. Harbour Radio is a listener-supported, community-based, radio station for Great Yarmouth and we will continue to tackle issues that matter to the local community”.  He continued, “We owe our success to the many supporters and volunteers of Harbour Radio and we want to say thank you to them all”

Community radio has a vital role to play in Great Yarmouth, it is anticipated that ‘Harbour Radio’ will be launched with the  continued support from the local community as well as our partner organisations

We would hope to encourage volunteers from Great Yarmouth and the wider borough to become involved with the station which is a not for profit organisation. It will need presenters, producers, interviewers, engineers marketing and administration staff to make it become even more successful over a five year period and hopefully beyond.

If you’d like to get involved or find out more, feel free to contact Nevv Moore on 01493 923877 or email at harbourradiogy@outlook.com
