Wymondham councillor Joe Mooney injured in car accident.

Joe Mooney, who is county councillor for Wymondham division, suffered broken bones and a head injury in the crash in Lowestoft, and was taken to the James Paget University Hospital (JPH) in Gorleston.

Mr Mooney, who also represents Wymondham on South Norfolk Council, and is the chairman of the authority’s development management committee, sent tweets from his hospital bed today to reassure people.

“Following a car accident in Lowestoft I am currently at the James Paget Hospital. I hope to go home today,” he wrote.

He added that he had suffered a cut above his eye which had caused swelling, and he had suffered a fracture to his shoulder.

His daughter Eleanor Bell said: “We are delighted that dad’s coming home today and we are looking forward to him making a full recovery.”
